UK law firm marketing on the rise

February 26, 2007

Legalweek reports UK law firm marketing expenditures are on the rise.

Top [London] firms are ready to spend £10m-plus per year on marketing as commercial lawyers aggressively beef up their investment in business development. Georgina Stanley reports on the results of the latest Big Question survey

The modern City legal giant is ready to spend eight-figure sums on marketing, according to new research that shows top London firms are becoming zealous converts to the cause of formal business development.

The latest Legal Week/EJ Legal Big Question survey found that almost half of all respondents (45%) are now spending 3%-5% of their turnover on marketing activities annually, while a further 10% spend at least 5% or more.

Perhaps that will bring a rise in more UK law firm blogs. But Justin Patten tells me he’s not seeing it yet.
