A short history of social media (infographic)
This month’s edition of Morrison & Foerster’s Social Media Newsletter, Socially Aware, has a nice infographic offering a short history of social media.
A few of us dinosaurs remember the days of bulletin board systems (BBS), GeoCities, Prodigy, and the like. Well, things have progressed a bit. To a point today that we could never have imagined just 15 years ago.
Here’s MoFo’s infographic (click on it to enlarge) to give you a taste of history.
I inserted Prairielaw.com (virtual law community of articles, message boards, chats, ask-a-lawyer) which I founded in 1996, which upon being sold to LexisNexis in ’01 makes up a lot of Lawyers.com, and LexBlog which I founded in 2003 to mark my place in history
At the speed of change over the last 15 years, it’s got to make you wonder where we’ll be in another 10 or 15 years.
Hat tip to David Strom of ReadWriteWeb for word of the MoFo infographic.
