Lawyers on Twitter the topic of two leading podcasts this week

January 17, 2009

The last month we’ve seen an explosion of lawyers using Twitter the last month. I’m seeing the number of lawyers following me on twitter increase by the day. And Lextweet, a community of legal professionals using Twitter has grown to almost 1,200 members in just 2 weeks.

So it should be no surprise that Twitter was the subject of two leading legal podcasts the past week. I had the privilege of appearing on both.

On Wednesday, I was a guest with New York criminal defense lawyer Scott Greenfield on the Lawyer2Lawyer podcast show hosted by Bob Ambrogi and Craig Williams. Scott and I, who I can agree to disagree on just about anything, had a little pro Twitter (me) and contra Twitter (Scott) discussion drawn out by Bob and Craig. You can listen to the podcast at Legal Talk Network’s Lawyer2Lawyer page.

Then this morning I had the true honor of appearing on the podcast show of UK’s Mike Semple Piggot alias CharonQC. We first had a wonderful exchange on the difference in legal marketing, blogging, and advertising ethics between the US and the UK. The majority of our conversation though was about the powers of Twitter. How it’s being used by lawyers? The benefits and challenges of Twitter for lawyers. And more. You may listen to the podcast here.

Thanks for having me on your podcasts guys. If you’re not already, start listening to these two podcasts. Chock full of learning on a weekly, if not multiple times a week basis.
