Bloggers gain access to “Scooter” Libby trial

January 11, 2007

Reuters is reporting that the U.S. District Court in Washington is reserving four press seats for bloggers to cover the criminal trial of former White House staffer Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby.

It’s believed to be a first for a high-profile court case. Per court spokesperson Sheldon Snook, “Bloggers are part of the media landscape and if we were to ignore bloggers, we would be ignoring reality.”

Seems like a great fit for high profile criminal defense lawyer and prominent blogger Jeralyn Merritt.
