The Blogging Nun
Ellen Tomsom reports on the ‘Blogging Nun’ in this morning’s St. Paul Pioneer Press. Sister Irene O’Neill, who belongs to the order of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondolet, started a blog to share the good work of the sisters, work generally invisible to people.
O’Neill says the sisters’ work may seem invisible to many people, but blogging is a way to share their stories.
“One misconception about nuns would be that we are not in the world or of the world,” she says. “But we are in the world. And that’s why it’s important to use 21st-century ways of communication. It fits with us. We are putting our presence out there.”
Take a look at some of Sister O’Neil’s posts. Touching moments of peace and love from the Midwest.
And visibility may not be a problem anymore ased on the buzz around the blogosphere today. I expect there will be a lot of traffic to The Blogging Nun.
