LexisNexis picks up blog content : Excludes law blogs
September 4, 2006
From Bonnie Sucha at WisBlawg, LexisNexis is including blog content in their Newstex database. Here’s the list of blogs they cover (pdf).
Interesting that the focus is on business, computers & technology, financial, government & politcs, medical & health blogs, and media blogs to the exclusion of legal blogs.
Means one of three things. LexisNexis is coming out with a separate database of law blogs, they fear development of free access to the law, and/or that they look at law blogs as less reliable than the legal information they sell.
Also interesting that LexisNexis charges for access to content freely accessible via RSS feeds.
