State of the Law Library Blogosphere

August 28, 2006

Bonnie Shucha, Head of Reference for the University of Wisconsin Law Library and publisher of WisBlawg, has published an excellent summary on law librarian blogs called The State of the Law Library Blogosphere.

Bonnie believes blogs can provide valuable reference, research, and client services, all essential parts of what law librarians do. But in the absence of thorough articles on the subject, Bonnie wanted to cover the the following topics:

  • Who is blogging?
  • What are they blogging about?
  • Who reads blogs?
  • What technologies are being used?
  • Have blogs been successful?
  • What lessons can be shared?

Bonnie’s passionate about her profession as well as blogging. She was just the person to publish such an article. The information is detailed and well supported.
