Happy Memorial Day, spend some time with your loved ones

May 26, 2006

Robert Scoble’s mom died this week, something one felt very much a part of by virtue of this blog community of ours. Wasn’t unexpected following a severe stroke a couple weeks ago that took from Robert the mom he knew. Have a safe dive to Livingston and back Robert. And remember to experience Montana.

Dave Winer writes about life’s unexpected turns, events like this hitting us like a ton of bricks and the need to remember the role our mother’s and fathers play in our lives.

Mothers and fathers are our teachers, a few years ago when it looked like my dad was going to die, I was still learning from him, and he survived, to be an inspiration, again and again. You never know what’s coming next in life, that’s the great thing about it. Scoble’s mom, even after her life is over, continues to teach. Not just Scoble, not just Maryam [Robert’s wife], but me, and if you’re reading this, you.

Hear hear.
