Digg and Diggnation : Start digging them

February 9, 2006

If you have a remote interest in staying up to speed on the latest on Internet and technology discussion, you should start getting RSS feeds from Digg.com and start watching Internet broadcasted Diggnation.

Digg is a website with emphasis on technology news. How does it work? From Wikiepdia:

Readers can view all of the stories that have been submitted by fellow users in the “digg all” section of the site. Once a story has received enough “diggs”, roughly 25 or more within a certain time period, it appears on Digg’s front page. Should the story not receive enough diggs, or if enough users make use of the problem report feature to point out issues with the submission, the story will remain in the reviewing area.

You’ll only receive the ‘front page’ news via your RSS feeds.

Diggnation.jpgDiggnation, is a weekly tech/web culture show based on the top digg.com news stories. It’s not that we’ve become Wayne’s World. Wayne’s World was us. The show may look wacky but if you have an oddball sense of humor like me and enjoy their take on tech and net developments, it’s a worthwhile watch. The hosts, Kevin Rose & Alex Albrecht, formerly on cable TV’s TechTV, review and comment on the top ‘diggs’ from digg.com.

The best part is that once subscribed to diggnation, you’ll receive the RSS feeds automatically. Play them at your convenience on your laptop while on a flight or in the comfort of your family room on the TV via the USB port on the Tivo. Heck, your kids may think you’re getting more hip.
