Law firm SEO : No graphic image or animations for main page

January 29, 2006

Law firm SEO is the subject of an amusing post from Ken Chan at the Legal SEO and Marketing Blog from Justia.

The point is not to include graphic images or some gimmicky animations on the main page of your Web site. Google can only read text, hopefully in your case text with keywords describing the nature of what you are blogging about. Graphic images and animations are going to leave blank pages for Google. Nothing to read or index. The result is your blog or website will not be found when people search for what you are writing about or what you do.

What is Google is seeing when it comes to your blog or website. Ken tells you how to find out. Use the Google cache. For example I search at Google for cache:lexblog.com. I ten click on the link that says cached text only.
