Xservs are out of the box and up at LexBlog
LexBlog’s two shiny Apple Xservs were booted up for the first time this afternoon. Jesse Newland, LexBlog’s IT Director, has been configuring, updating, and generally massaging our new workhorses.
Taking our hosting in house is going to allow LexBlog a to make series of tech upgrades this year. The beneficiaries? LexBlog’s innovative law firm and professional services business clients. And why not. These firms are leading the country in sharing their intellectual capital via professional marketing blogs. These guys deserve the best.
Jesse says these servers don’t know what’s about to hit them.
I’ve prepared a tasty cocktail of Movable Type, LightTPD, and FastCGI to power our blogs, with a sprinkling of Ruby on Rails on the top to make management of our blogs easier.
Watch out for some new features and upgrades from Lexblog in the next few months, as well as drastic speed improvements. They don’t call it FastCGI for nothing ;)
We’ll keep you up to speed (literally) on the upgrades.
