How much is your lawyer blog worth? Someone owes me $120,000

November 6, 2005

My blog is worth $120,247.02.
How much is your blog worth?

You’ve probably seen it around already, but bloggers are displaying the dollar value of their blogs. Not sure that it amounts to a darn, but Tristan Louis determined the value of each link to Weblogs Inc after its acquisition by AOL.

Dane Carlson, publisher of the Business Opportunities Weblog, created this little applet using Technorati’s API which computes and displays your blog’s worth using the same link to dollar ratio as the AOL-Weblogs Inc deal. To set this up on your own blog just cut and paste the html that will be generated from the entry of your blog’s url into Carlson’s blog value computing tool.

I can tell you that such a popularity contest based on links to your lawyer blog means a heck of a lot more than measuring a lawyer blog’s popularity based on click throughs from blawg.org. Saw one law marketing person do that.
