PR Newswire to include blogs in its monitoring service
PR Newswire recently announced the inclusion of blogs in its monitoring service. They’ll be monitoring hundreds of the most influential and visited blogs on the Internet.PR Newswire has been around for over 50 years. It provides electronic distribution, targeting, measurement, translation and broadcast services on behalf of some 40,000 corporate, government, association, labor, non-profit, and other customers worldwide. Using PR Newswire, these organizations reach a variety of critical audiences including the news media, the investment community, government decision-makers, and the general public with their up-to-the-minute, full-text news developments.
At no additional cost, PR Newswire customers will be able to monitor blog content from the same eWatch interface they rely on for monitoring print and online news sources. eWatch will monitor blogs run by “credentialed journalists” and influential bloggers. Customers will also be able to modify their search criteria and request that new blogs be added to the service to ensure quality and inclusiveness of their results.
PR Newswire made the decision based on the influence blogs are having. Per Nancy Sells, Vice President, Media Intelligence Products:
The quality and influence of blogs has increased tremendously in the past several years and monitoring them is a must for everyone who wants to stay on top of the news. By adding blog content to our monitoring services we are responding to our customers’ needs by providing the most complete monitoring for their businesses. The ability to request additional blog sources is an additional time-saver for our busy clients and helps to ensure comprehensive and precise results.
LexBlog tip: You need not be in the ‘hundreds of the most influential and visited blogs on the Internet’ to get picked up by PR Newswire. Write about those bloggers who are or subjects they are likely to cover. Those bloggers will see your posts immediately and you have a good chance of being written about on these ‘influential blogs.’
Now, not only will law firm blogs appear in search results when the media is searching for sources and leads on a story but the content may be picked up directly through PR Newswire. Good stuff!
