Tennesee law professor’s blog ranks No. 1
WBIR-TV in Knoxville TN reported last night that University of Tennessee law professor Glenn Reynolds is top blog, according to Wired magazine. The station reported Instapundit, Reynolds’ site for online musings, is the most visited Weblog in the world, with more than 100,000 hits a day, the magazine reports in its February issue.
Reynolds, who started the Weblog in 2001, became interested in the concept while teaching a course in Internet law.
It’s a way of keeping my hand in, making sure I have some actual knowledge and not just academic theory to offer, I was looking for something interesting to do on the Internet, and this was it.
Reynolds reads dozens of political and news sites daily and offers his perspective on a wide variety of issues.
Reynolds told Wired:
I know a little bit about a lot of things and I have a sense for things that are more important than people think, or sometimes less important.
I think Reynolds hit the nail on the head in pointing he has become a trailblazer of sorts for lawyers and blogs. “Several hundred people have started blogs because of me,” he said. “I think that might be my greatest contribution.”
Greg Siskind may be the grandfather of lawyer Web sites but Reynolds holds title of grandfather of lawyer blogs.
