Blogging is Better Than Being on the 16th Hole

I was talking to a lawyer last week when I asked why he blogged.

His response, “It’s better than being on the 16th hole.” Wild thing is that I was thinking when I asked, “It’s sure beats playing golf.”

As writers write, bloggers blog. It’s what we do.

We find blogging enjoyable and rewarding.

Reading about the subject on which we blog, synthesizing ideas and engaging other bloggers, media and influencers makes us better at what we do.

We’re also leaving a legacy.

Rather than look at blogging as a chore or content marketing that’s needed to generate attention, many lawyers look at blogging as something they do.

Nothing against golf. I watch a fair amount of golf on television. But my play peaked at age fourteen and I walked off the course while playing with my boys to catch a ride home about fifteen years ago.

I’ll stick to blogging, after twenty one years.
