Perplexity Pages Likely to Play a Role in the Future of Blogging

Could Perblixity Pages from Perpelexity AI replace blogging as we know it? Some long time digital media professionals believe so.

I don’t believe AI solutions are going to replace blogging, but blogging is never going to be the same as a result of applications such as Perplexity Pages.

What is Perplexity Pages and how does it work?

A user-friendly platform designed to help anyone create visually appealing or comprehensive articles on any topic. Its goal is to create high-quality content creation without requiring expert writing skills. Pages is not all the way there on creating high quality content, based on subject matter expertise, but Pages does ‘written pretty well.

Creating a Page

  1. From a Thread: Convert copy from research done on Proximity into a polished piece ready to share, once edited, by clicking “Convert to a Page.”
  2. From Scratch: Start with any prompt, and watch as Pages generates a draft. Customize the content, tweak formatting, and add multimedia elements to personalize your Page.

Media and Customization

  • Media: Enhance your content with images in various styles (painting, photograph, illustration, diagram) or upload your own. Reposition images to fit your vision.
  • Layout Customization: Add new sections, choose different layout options (text alignment, image with text, media only), and rearrange, remove or add sections as needed.

Source Display

Unlike ChatGPT, Perplexity Pages ensures transparency by allowing you to view the sources for each section. Weak sources, such as one I saw regarding Perplexity’s impact on law blogs, can be challenged, removed, and the content will be rewritten accordingly.

Difference Between a Thread and a Page

  • Threads: A private space for messy, fast-paced research.

Pages is far from perfect, what is on AI, today, but I get a taste of what is coming – and that legal blogging is going to be improved with AI.
