Lawyers and CEO’s on TikTok: I’m Going to Find Out How This Engaging Medium Works to Help Folks

I saw Carolyn Elefant on TikTok yesterday.

Up popped a notification on my screen that said Carolyn just posted a video. I head there as I always do, for her.

I’m watching her authentic query why when we drive by a gas station we see the price posted but we have such a hard time knowing the price of a lawyer.

Carolyn, who’s been a champion on teaching solo lawyers and running a sophisticated energy law practice, for years, is going to do something about it.

She’s going to start an estate planning practice in Maryland with bubble pricing. Means the pricing will be displayed on the website. (Check out her live intro on March 8, link in TikTok bio)

Beyond this being one of the cooler ideas I have seen, the impact Carolyn has on TikTok is unmatched.

She has me with her authenticity on talking about topics ranging from the business of law to grief to having two outstanding girls out serving others – to just personal items in life.

Carolyn is as real and passionate as one gets.

I share this to talk about power of TikTok. It’s a medium that builds trust. A lawyer – or a company founder for that matter – who earns the trust of customers, potential customers, partners and employees is going to do wonders for their business.

I think you can do this with TikTok.

On an inquiry about TikTok to Carolyn, eighteen months ago, she mentioned a nuance or two, but she encouraged me to “just start.” Like half of the adult users of TikTok in the U.S. I still have never posted a video.

This time I am going to act. Can’t give you the day yet, but coming up.

I got on the net twenty seven years ago in an effort to help people. Hopefully that same drive to care can get me on TikTok.
