Microsoft CEO says ChatGPT To Help Journalists (and bloggers) Write Better

January 17, 2023

Seventeen years ago, as the CEO of Microsoft, Bill Gates made the case for blogging.

Blogging makes it very easy to communicate. It gets away from drawbacks of email and the drawbacks of a website. Eventually, most businesses will use blogs to communicate with customers, suppliers and employees, because it’s two-way and more satisfying.

Yesterday, Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella told an audience in Davos that Microsoft plans to build OpenAI capabilities, including artificial-intelligence tools like ChatGPT, into all of its products.

With Microsoft’s Word being one of the widely used word processing applications in the world, you can see where we are headed.

Writers, bloggers included, are going to have ready access to ChatGPT via it being embedded in their writing tools – whether Word, or other writing applications, Microsoft’s or not.

As reported by the Wall Street Journal’s Sam Schechner, Nadella believes,

The best way to prepare for it is not to bet against this technology, and this technology helping you in your job and your business process.

And when asked by members of the audience specifically how AI would impact reporters of the Wall Street Journal,

I think they’ll be able to write great articles in the future relying on GPT.

Write better – as a journalist or a blogger, without fear of GPT replacing you or mass plagiarism.

The easier and more effective communication through blogging that Bill Gates discussed seventeen years ago will become easier and more effective.

And as result of legal blogging made better, we are going to see advancement of the law at a clip never seen before.
