Looking for another reason to have your law firm’s content mobile-optimized or to purchase an iPad?

A recent study by Germany’s Johannes Gutenberg University Germany found that though older adults (60 years old and over) expressed an “overwhelming” preference for reading on paper, they had an easier time reading on backlit tablets, such as the iPad or Kindle.

Reporting on the study, Doug Drinkwater (@dougdrinkwater1), shares that researchers found the reason to be “better text discrimination on the backlit displays” and that older readers are less sensitive to contrast.

At age 57, it looks like I’ll not be returning to my newspaper and print books.
