Is your personal contact information on your LinkedIn profile? It ought to be.

A couple weeks ago in Chicago I was scheduled to meet someone from St. Louis at the Hilton during the ABA TechShow.

Turned out there was confusion as to what lounge we were to meet at. With the Hilton being a big place, we almost missed the opportunity to meet, and our meeting did get cut short because we were each waiting at separate places.

While waiting I emailed her and left a voicemail at her office number, the only one I had – and the only one she displayed on her website. Understandably, there was no response.

The next place I looked was my LinkedIn iPhone app. I display all of my personal contact info, including my cell phone number, on LinkedIn. Unfortunately, no cell phone number displayed on her LinkedIn profile.

It’s common sense to make it easy for folks you’d like to do business with to get a hold of you. One way you can do so is to display your contact info at LinkedIn.

Here’s a screenshot of personal contact info displayed at the bottom of my LinkedIn profile.

My email address and Twitter handle are also displayed on other sections of my LinkedIn profile.

Make it easy on folks. It’s good for business.
