The rewards of helping people

November 16, 2010

I received an email this morning from a longtime LexBlog client and friend who just wanted to say “thank you.”

A new client called him yesterday and said he had been following his blog for “years.” They were now ready to hire his firm for work that will involve him personally, as well as some of his partners.

He added that his collections for this year which have some blog connection should be in the $400,000 to $500,000 range. The existing work for next year related to his blog should be $500,000 to $1 Million plus. He said it would not be happening without my company. And for that he wanted to say thanks.

The client, a good lawyer, is in his mid-thirties and works in large law. He’s blogged regularly for four years covering a niche area of the law.

Improving the lives of professionals is the vision for LexBlog. Having a better life can mean many things to a lawyer.

  • Doing the work you enjoy for the type of clients you want to work for.
  • Having a reputation as an authority in your area of the law at a young age.
  • Being respected by your peers as a leader in your niche.
  • Developing a book of business based on relationships.
  • Knowing that you are more than capable of supporting your family.
  • Having the financial wherewithal to help out some less fortunate people along the way.
  • Knowing that no matter where you may end up practicing law, you’ll be okay — you have established a reputation as a thought leader and someone others can trust.

Thanks for the email. It means a lot to know that what my team and I do improves the lives of others. Isn’t that why motivates us all?
