New blogs joining LexBlog Network for the week of 10/19-10/23

October 23, 2009

Another solid week out in Seattle as the LexBlog Network continues to grow; this week, it’s by four. We have one returning firm, Nossaman, which is launching its second blog while the other three publications have shown a great deal of promise. Be sure to check out the Legal Malpractice Law Review, which is using the blog as a great educational tool and has contributors from the Hofstra University School of Law.

  • Nursing Home Abuse Advocate is published by Idaho law firm Kormanik Hallam & Sneed. The blog provides news and updates on the laws governing nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Topics covered include choosing a nursing home, nursing home abuse and other resources for residents and families.
  • California Eminent Domain Report is the second blog published by national law firm Nossman LLP. The blog follows all aspects of eminent domain in California, including condemnation, inverse condemnation, and regulatory takings.
  • The editor of Legal Malpractice Law Review is Hofstra University law professor Ben Wasserman. In his own words, the blog “is unique in that it is going to serve as an archive of materials composed by law students to be used by lawyers out there in the real world…This is very much on the model of a classic law review but now, available to all through blog technology.” It’s a great concept and something to keep an eye on.
  • Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt—which has offices in Toronto, Montréal, Calgary, Ottawa and New York—launcehd the Pensions & Benefits Law blog this week. WIth a large number of bloggers, the publication covers several topics related pensions and benefits, including bankruptcy, pension reform, legislation and regulations, plan administration and plan wind-ups.
