Linda Greenhouse, leading Supreme Court reporter, to Leave NY Times
Linda Greenhouse, a NY Times reporter who’s covered the Supreme Court for the last 30 years, is taking a buyout offer of $300,000 to leave the paper. As Dan Slater of the WSJ reports, Linda began covering the Court in 1978, making her career there longer than any of the current justices except John Paul Stevens, who came to the Court in 1975.
She told the AP’s Seth Suthel that she plans to remain ‘actively engaged in thinking and writing about the court. Perhaps Linda will turn to blogging like Lyle Denniston, who is one of two Supreme Court Reporters who has reported as long (Nina Totenberg, the other), who currently writes for Scotusblog.
If Linda wishes a blog of her own, it’s on the house at LexBlog. We’d be honored to be of service. I was unable to locate Linda’s email address. No strings attached. If anyone’s got it, please relay the offer, or forward or email.
