Don’t be an outsider

Aaron Brazell shares that he’s using RSS feeds from Google Blog Search and Google News more than Technorati these days for knowing what people are talking about. I’m doing the same.

As Aaron explains, the reason for listening to what people are saying about your area of business is so you’re not an outsider.

When you join the conversation, the conversation will develop in front of your eyes. You’ll spend far less time doing ‘market research’ and far more time cultivating relationships with your consumers and partners.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of lawyers have called me about blogs over the last 3 and half years. Very, very few understood the concept of listening to a conversation via newsfeeds from Technorati, and now Google Blog Search and Google News. Fortunately, this way of listening to digital conversation is not tough to master.
