Large law firm marketing budgets

From BTI Consulting Group in Boston:

  • For AmLaw 100 firms, the average budget was 2.2 percent, up from 2 percent in 2003; corresponding to an average of $9 million.
  • For AmLaw 200 firms, the average budget was 2.5 percent of revenue in 2005, an increase from 2.3 percent in 2003, corresponding to an average of $3.1 million.
  • AmLaw 100 firms dedicate nearly $56,500 per equity partner to their marketing budget. 
  • AmLaw 200 firms that number is over $33,000 per equity partner.
  • AmLaw 100 firms had 31.9 attorneys per full-time marketer.
  • AmLaw 200 firms had 35.5 attorneys per full-time marketer.
