My TV gets podcasts via RSS

January 8, 2007

May have bought it for the kids and I to watch sports, but Dave Winer tells me my new Sony Bravia “connects to the Internet, and includes a RSS aggregator that gets podcasts to play on the TV.”

Nial Kennedy reports no add ons from Sony are even needed to the do the job.

I did it with a $500 add-on called a Mac Mini, and some RSS software I wrote myself. It’s connected to the Internet, of course, and also includes a blog editor, and an outliner. No reason to think of your TV set as anything other than a PC.

Now I can start watching Diggnation again. Sitting back having a beer watching Kevin and Alex drinking the brew of the week. Life’s good.

And thanks Doc, for turning me on to the Sony Bravia.
