Lawyer blog monitors Saddam’s imminent execution

Jeralyn Merritt is monitoring Saddam Hussein’s execution at her blog, TalkLeft.

Via AP, she reports Saddam’s execution will occur by 6 a.m. Saturday, Baghdad time, or 10 p.m. Friday EST.

Saddam’s lawyers filed a motion for stay of execution in federal court in DC today. Jeralyn’s been checking the District of Columbia docket and as of 5:17 p.m., there has been no order issued on the stay of execution request yet. She’s uploaded the stay request here.
