Florida lawyer website advertising : How did the Bar rule?

It was anticipated that the Florida Bar board of governors would adopt changes in how lawyers’ websites are treated under Bar rules at their meeting yesterday. Though I’ve looked on the net, I can’t fid any news. The absence of any mention on the Bar’s site may be indicative that the Bar is not too net savvy.

Apparently lawyers are not allowed to share any past results or comment on the quality of their services in offline advertising. Law firm websites are currently exempted. The Bar wants to close those exemptions.

Gosh knows you’d hate to provide people with the information they would like in selecting a lawyer or provide younger lawyers happy to provide legal services at a fair price a cost effective means of getting word to consumers.
