Lawyer blogs not important?

November 1, 2006

Surprised to see Dan Hull saying that blogging by lawyers is not important, especially when he goes on to speak favorably of blogs.

Dan makes the point that using blogs as a source of information for staying on top of your practice is critical. That’s important.

Maybe he doesn’t believe blogs are an excellent business development tool as a means to grow a law firm’s business. But as passionate as Dan is about his own blog, his firm is not using blogs as a marketing tool.

Well done blogs focused on a niche area of the law are garnering substantial work for firms. At least one law firm doing international work, like Dan’s firm does, is getting more new work from its blog than any other source. That’s important.

So curious Dan why you’d blow off the importance of blogs by lawyers.
