Law firm and professional service firm wikis? Stanford University shows the way
Steve Rubel shares that Stanford University is launching a wiki that allows students to share campus information and more. The Stanford wiki is open to the public to view, not just the University community. However, only students will have editing rights.
Why wikis? From Steve:
…[I]magine if every institution from colleges, to government and corporations launched a wiki for their constituents. It would make it easy for people to find out the straight dope from the community that cares most about the particular institution. I know if I were considering applying to Stanford (ha – never likely with my SATs), I would be crawling all over this site for essay and application ideas.
Law firms and other professional service firms could use wikis for internal knowledge sharing, recruiting, or showcasing their intellectual capital to their target audience.
Unfamiliar with wikis? Good background on wikis from wikipedia.
