Google Analytics open to all

August 15, 2006

Google announced today that its free web stats tool, Google Analytics is now open to anyone.

After Google acquired Urchin and named it Google Analytics the stats package was only available to approved users. I’ve had access to Analytics for my blog for quite a while. Although, the stats info interface is nice, there’s really too much information for bloggers. I use Mint which provides the information I need in an easy to read interface.

Analytics, in my opinion, is for heavy e-commerce sites and Google AdWords users. These folks are generating money from their sites. They need to work with info gleaned from stats while most of us do not.
