Om Malik pulling a Scoble

Search Engine Journal reports Om Malik is pulling a Scoble by leaving his position as a Senior Writer at Business 2.0. He’ll still be a once a month writer but has received funding to take a blog favorite of mine, GigaOm, to the next level.

From a leaked email posted at Valleywag:

As many of you already know, Om Malik, after three years of writing about startups, Web 2.0, the GoogleNet and everything else, has decided to eat his own dog food. He’s accepted seed funding to turn his mega-popular blog, gigaom.com, into a real business.

Professional service firms and lawyers need to be reading publications from innovative thinkers outside their industry. Om’s blog feeds should be at the top of your reading list. And it looks like it will be getting better.
