Normalization of blogging

May 9, 2006

Shel Israel has a post on Scotland’s Carnoustie Golf Links blog as evidence of the normalization of blogs.

…This particular one is further evidence of the Normalization of Blogging. The tool is going to be used by all sorts of people in all sorts of ways, just like email or the telephone.

Finally, Carnoustie is indicative of a central theme in Global Neighborhoods.  Golfing is one of a great deal of subject where there are passionate communities who care nothing about geographic borders–except maybe where in- and out-of-bounds is determined on the fairway.

Shel’s right. Law firms and professional services firms are going to use and be as accustomed to blogs as they are currently with websites and email. Good value and common sense does win out.
