Which blog statistic is most important?

Darren Rowse at Pro Blogger asked which statistic is most crucial to your blogging?

He received a lot of different answers in the comments to his post:

• Entry pages based on search engine results
• Page views
• Referring link – how’d they get here, what prompted their visit (article, search string, email, etc.)
• Unique visitors
• Total time your visitors spent on your blog
• Number of subscribers

To me, the best stat is the realization of your own dreams. If you’re a lawyer or professional service provider that means to enhance your reputation in your chosen niche, to grow your business, and to find your blog publishing personally rewarding. And perhaps better yet, to find your blog contributing to others and society at large.
