RSS is coming to the masses

December 14, 2005

Look no further than expensive Internet ads to see that RSS is coming to a neighborhood near you – or at least to your target audience’s neighborhood. Look at how CNET gets subscribers these days – a banner ad at the top of a Yahoo content page.

Smart publishers and marketers understand that the easiest way to get their message in front of Internet users looking for their content is via the Internet user’s RSS feeds. Internet user’s are screaming ‘we don’t want no more of your junk.’ So Internet users set up RSS feed subscriptions to receive the information they want when they want it from whom they want it.

In Yahoo’s case, the leading place for net user’s receiving RSS feeds (via MyYahoo!), it just means hitting the ‘Add’ or ‘MyYahoo.’ When it’s that easy to use RSS, you can expect it to become a habit for the public at large in the near future.
