Target’s weekly newspaper ad goes RSS

Steve Rubel at Micro Persuasion reports Target has started an RSS feed for the on-sale items in its weekly newspaper ad.

It was only 9 years ago I asked if the ‘World Wide Web’ was real or a fad after seeing www.toyota.com in a television ad. I thought Toyota must know something about this WWW thing to run that in an ad. Traget’s use of RSS signals the same thing today.

Ain’t a doubt in my mind that RSS feeds will be as much a part of the public’s Internet use as email and browsing Web sites. Won’t take as long as this time.
