Blogs a source for legal research

John W. Dean, counsel to President Nixon, writes for FindLaw’s Modern Practice that open source resources such as Google, wikipedia and blogs are an excellent resource when doing legal research. His post includes an interesting discussion on how he uses blogs in his writing.

They are routinely found on Google when people search for legal information. Being used as a source for information because you are recognized as a thought leader or expert is a small step from being hired to perform legal work.
