Manufacturers Association blog to influence public opinion
August 20, 2005
As more evidence of the PR power of blogs, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has started a blog. The blog is described as “…One of the top business blogs in the country discussing important issues affecting manufacturing, small businesses, free markets, outsourcing, and staying competitive in the business world.”
These guys are not lightweights. Fortune magazine ranked the NAM 10th among Washington’s 25 most influential advocacy groups, though it has the smallest budget and staff of the 25. The New York Times called the NAM “the nation’s chief business lobbying group.”
Lawyers who have as awful a reputation as any profession ought to wake up as to the PR power of blogs.
