8 in 10 journalists read blogs : Survey proof that legal blogs are powerful PR tool

May 17, 2005

Powerful findings from a major poll conducted by the University of Connecticut Department of Public Policy regarding the press and the public:

  • 83% of journalists reported the use of blogs
  • Four out of 10 saying they use them at least once a week
  • Among those who use them, 55% said they do so to support their news-gathering work

Anyone looking for solid evidence that blogs are a powerful PR and communications for law firms, need look no further. Blogs spread good info and resources like wild fire. Your legal blog need not be found directly to be picked up by reporters. Having other blogs referencing your law blog and your firm’s lawyers is enough to get picked up. Being referenced as an authority on a legal topic is far more powerful than a press conference or press release.
