How to use RSS : great webcast on it

February 26, 2005

Lawyers in our LexBlog community are always asking how do I learn to use RSS. Though it’s an easy to use tool, many think it’s too techie for them. Well, here’s the answer.

Alex Barnett has created a ‘how-to’ screencast (Flash movie) entitled ‘Using RSS 101‘. The screencast shows how to download and set up an RSS reader/aggeregator (there are lots of choices out there, including browser-based readers, but Alex and I both recommend Feeddemon for PC users, I recommend netnewswire for mac), how to access the RSS content once in the RSS reader and how to subsrcibe to an RSS feed.

I watched the screencast this morning, it’s fabulous. No more me explaining RSS to you folks. Not that I will not spend the time with any lawyer or legal marketing professional, but Barnett is International Program Manager for MSDN and TechNet at Microsoft and a heck of well respected blogger in the tech community. I am not that smart but smart enough to know Barnett knows this stuff better than me.
