Susannah Gardner, author of the upcoming Buzz Marketing with Blogs for Dummies, did us a great favor blogging the Blog Business Summit here in Seattle this week. Robert Scoble, Microsoft blog evangelist, gave attendees some great (tape’em on the wall) tips for blogging.
- Passion and authority are key The combination produces valuable content for readers that they can trust.
- Read other blogs. A lot.
- Link to your competitors.
- Realize that blogging has a payoff, even if it isn’t sales. If your company does any kind of outreach —say, sends people to speak at conferences—blogging can produce similar results for less money.
