Law firm email newsletters on decline? 87% of web users fear they generate spam

December 17, 2004

Internet Retailer reports the vast majority of Internet Internet users feeling barraged by unwanted e-mail messages only feel it’s only going to get worse by subscribing to email newsletters.

According to a survey by ReleMail, an email monitoring and certification service 87% say they believe that if they subscribe to an e-mail newsletter they will be spammed as a result. 83% of web users have avoided subscribing to an e-mail newsletter because they weren’t sure they could trust the publisher, while 78% do not always believe company email privacy statements.

Lawyers, unfortunately being among the least trusted professionals by the public, may even find their email privacy promises fall on more of a deaf ear than those from other marketers.
