Yahoo! makeover is big plus for lawyer blogs

Yahoo! remodeled it’s front page as well as the MyYahoo portal users get to by clicking on the MyYahoo link on the top of the page. The big news for blogs is that the the revamped MyYahoo site includes RSS (really simply syndication) technology. This allows myYahoo users to subscribe to blogs and other news sources and have the titles with links to the posts streamed to their MyYahoo portal page via RSS.

Yahoo spokesperson Elena Maus, told Newsfactor “MyYahoo has more than 20 million users, which is a great opportunity to bring RSS into the mainstream.”

Yahoo also launched a RSS information page to better educate consumers — not to mention lawyers and law firms — with information on how to distribute and receive content via RSS.

We are deliberately moving toward the day when lawyers will not be able to rely on people coming to their Web sites. Law firms will need to stream their information via RSS to their audience’s customized information portal, whether it be via MyYahoo or otherwise.
