The Law Firm IT blog is becoming an excellent resource for, among others, lawyers looking to learn about law firm management issues from, I believe, a practicing lawyer.
But if this blog is being used to enhance the lawyer's reputation, it's breaking all the rules.
- Looks poor
- Cannot easily find who is publishing the blog
- Content is not archived or indexed by category - how do I easily find the good stuff previously written about?
- On Blogger, so in addition to other problems this morning next blog link takes me to a punk rock site - okay if that's your target audience
Maybe I'm too tough on some lawyer blogs. But man, we're lawyers. We should be doing what we can to enhance the reputation of our legal profession. When it comes to lawyer blogs, I think it means putting ease of use and looking sharp at the top of the list.

Thanks for the kind words Kevin. For the record I'm an network engineer who has spent years around blogging, law firm marketing, and in the field of law firm IT. While I've spend years being managed by lawyers, I'm by no means an expert on law firm management.
And your right about the blog. It looks like crap, and there is no way of making it look much better. I blog for other IT people. And while Blogger isn't perfect, it is free. I'm looking at moving to WordPress, but I know to do it right I need to move to my own hosted domain.
I think the content would be easier to find by the use of Technorati tags, but there is no easy way of getting them into Blogger. I'm waiting for Flock, which makes tagging, no matter what free blogging service you might use, pretty easy. I ping Technorati, so it might be useful for finding content on the blog, but I've never tested it.
As far as finding out who is posting to the blog I'm still hiding behind my old school hacker name, more out of habit than anything else. I agree for the purposes of marketing the author of post should be pretty easy to find.
Your criticisms of Law Firm IT are right on target and has me thinking about how I can better serve my readers.
