M&A, Financial Instutions, Patents, Cyber Trends and White Collar Crime: New Blogs Joining the LexBlog Network

February 7, 2014

After a week that saw the LexBlog Editorial Team cover two conferences from 3,000 miles away (LegalTech and ReInvent Law NYC), it’s time to close things down. Let’s look at the five new publications joining the LexBlog Network this week.

  • The AmLaw 100’s #2 firm continue to grow out its array of LexBlog Network publications as DLA Piper launches Accrued Knowledge, a blog dedicated to covering public company M&A and corporate governance. Ed Batts, the blog’s primary author, brings a wealth of experience counseling publicly traded companies in complex mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and public offerings.
  • With a sharp magazine-style layout, another one of the top law firms in the world added another blog this week as Norton Rose Fulbright debuts the Financial Institutions Legal Snapshot. While the title doesn’t give it away, this blog focuses on the South African market, aiming to provide straightforward and actionable insight.
  • As I’ve mentioned before, it’s always good to add a talented blogger and established blog to our network, and that’s exactly what we’ve done with the addition of David Long‘s Essential Patent Blog. Long, a Partner with Kelley Drye, writes primarily on standard-essential patents—but does write on a number of other subjects, including patent trolls, the FTC and prominent litigation.
  • Cyber litigation has never been bigger, so it’s good to see Cole, Scott & Kissane seize the opportunity with the launch of their Cyber Litigation Trends blog. In their own words, the blog is “intended to explore and discuss the best risk assessment strategies and litigation practices relevant to defending cyber liability claims, intellectual property claims, privacy and security breaches, and all related risks arising out of the use of technology, the internet, and e-commerce.”
  • We really don’t have enough of these blogs: Brown Rudnick launched their latest blog, the White Collar Crime Watch. The blog aims to provide lawyers with the latest news and information on corporate misconduct, government and regulatory investigations, issues of fraud and corruption.
