Advertising, Media, Pipeline Law and Lot More: New Blogs on the LexBlog Network
September 20, 2013
There’s no other way to put it: this week was a very big week for the LexBlog Network. We had ten new publications join our ranks and, among them, we launched our very first responsive design. Also, when you look up and down the names of the firms launching blogs this week, it’s some of the top law firms in North America. And, to add to all of that, this week brings about a new record for traffic on LXBN. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.
- In very exciting news, Venable LLP has launched the very first blog with responsive design on the LexBlog Network as move All About Advertising Law onto our platform. The publication is a strong and established blog in this space, having launched independently more than a year ago, with the blog’s editors having experiencing publishing online even beyond that. Those editors are Washington, DC lawyers Amy Mudge and Randy Shaheen, who share a combined 45 years of experience in advertising law
- Along with employment and privacy, class action defense is one of the strongest and most-represented practice areas on the LexBlog Network. While we have a number of firms covering the area well in the States, it’s exciting to have someone cover the subject well from north of the border as this week marks the launch of Canadian Class Action Defence from Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt—one of Canada’s premier law firms. The blog is already off and rolling, with commentary flowing in on class certification, settlements and litigation.
- Speaking of premiere Canadian law firms, McCarthy Tetrault this week launched The Lay of the Land, which covers developments in Canadian real property law. The blog will cover real property developments in a number of industries, covering acquisitions and dispositions, municipal matters, real property assessment, taxation, infrastructure, leasing, financing and development.
- McCarthy Tetrault didn’t stop with one publication this week either, as they also launched the Canadian Securities Regulatory Monitor. Authored by McCarthy Tetrault’s experienced Securities Regulation & Investment Products Group, the blog monitors recent Canadian securities regulatory developments, and provides insight on the impact of these developments on Canadian businesses.
- Aiming to be a resource for corporate employers, HR professionals, C-suite executives, and corporate counsel, we have the HR Legalist from Tiffani L. McDonough an attorney in the Labor Relations and Employment Law Department of Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel. There’s only one post up so far, but it’s a good one as she covers employment law issues surrounding fantasy football leagues in the workplace.
- In what appears to be the very first AmLaw 200 blog on the LexBlog Network covering this area, Lathrop & Gage‘s Boots on the Ground provides readers with the latest developments in the agribusiness industry. The blog should prove to be a valuable resource for farmers, food producers and many others operating in this space as they cover litigation, regulatory developments and prominent trends.
- Hunton & Williams, for a long time, has been a strong blogging large law firm on the LexBlog Network—especially with their privacy publication—so it’s exciting to see them debut their fourth blog in the form of PipelineLaw.com. Drawing on pipeline professionals spread throughout the country, the blog covers all aspects of pipeline law from project planning to permitting to risk assessment.
- Environmental Law Strategy is the first of two blogs from BakerHostetler to launch this week. BakerHostetler continues to broaden its range of publications—they do already do an excellent job covering the hydraulic fracturing industry—with this blog on the latest environmental developments in the energy, natural resources, chemicals and agricultural biotechnology industries.
- The second of the two publications from BakerHostetler, truly one of the best blogging firms on the LexBlog Network, is Employment Law Spotlight. The blog, the firm’s second in the employment law space and one worth keeping an eye on, covers a very wide range of topics (as you can see running down the left side of the blog) and draws on a deep of team of authors.
- Taft Stettinius & Hollister launched their third blog on the LexBlog Network this week in the form of Managed Market Access. In their own words, “Managed Market Access is a blog about issues affecting life sciences companies and their relationships with key participants in the managed care space, like health plans, government payers such as Medicare and Medicaid, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), group purchasing organizations (GPOs), as well as other players in the pharmaceutical and medical device supply chain like wholesalers, distributors and pharmacies.”
