Native American Law, Investing in Energy & Cleantech, and a Website for a Longtime Member—New on the LexBlog Network
August 30, 2013
Ahh, it is absolutely beautiful outside in Seattle and, before I head out to enjoy it over the nice three-day weekend, let’s look at what’s new on the LexBlog Network this week. We have two blogs, one from an AmLaw 200 firm and another from a firm right here in the Emerald City, along with a new website from a lawyer and law firm who’s been with us for a long time.
- The Energy & Environmental Investor from McGuireWoods LLP isn’t the first blog from the firm to take a specific industry and examine the investment community around it, as they also actually do the same with health care. On this, the firm’s sixth on the LexBlog Network, the lawyers will examine what I’m sure is a thriving industry as they comment on both traditional energy—oil, gas and so on—but also the cleantech investment community as well.
- The Smoke Signals Indian Law Blog comes to the LexBlog Network from Garvey Schubert Barer, which is actually located just a half mile from LexBlog headquarters in downtown Seattle. The blog, which I believe is the network’s second covering Native American law, has attorney Lael Echo-Hawk as its Editor. Echo-Hawk, a member of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma, focuses her practice specifically on tribal law and leads the firm’s practice group.
- We’re also very proud to launch the website for D. Todd Smith and his firm, the Smith Law Group. Todd, an appeals lawyer down in Austin, publishes the Texas Appellate Law Blog, which has been on the LexBlog Network for more than half a decade.
