Earlier this morning, there was a fake story going around that NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden had been killed in a drone strike in Hong Kong. Now, I don’t think that’s what the Mary Jane Wilmoth of the National Whistleblower Center was referring to in her post today when she says intelligence employees need more whistleblower protection, but the fact that the incident seemed feasible and fooled many says a lot.
