As much as I’m embarrassed to admit it, I was eating the Jennie-O frozen turkey burgers up until about a month ago. Yep, these turkey burgers. I only stopped eating them when the generic brand became a dollar or two less expensive. Sometimes we choose to ignore the potential dangers that lurk around us because it’s hard to accurately comprehend their place in reality—and doing so would leave most living a life that’s too fearful to enjoy. That said, those dangers are around, and a recent report on Food Safety News proves quite alarming: a significant percentage of Seattle-area grocery store chicken is tainted by bacteria.
