New blogs joining The LexBlog Network for the week of 4/4-4/8

April 8, 2011

Wrapping things up on what will be a gorgeous night for baseball in Seattle, we have seven new publications joining The LexBlog Network this week with quite a few heavy-hitters rolling out new blogs. Have a great weekend everyone, I’m off to Opening Day. Go M’s.

  • With sports law experts Gregg Clifton and Jonathan Spitz serving as editors, Jackson Lewis launches their Collegiate & Professional Sports Law Blog. With labor disputes in both the NFL and NBA stewing, along with a wealth of controversy in the collegiate ranks, this blog will be an excellent one to watch over the coming months. I’d expect commentary that’s much more informed than what you’ll find from the talking heads on ESPN.
  • Published by the team at Barrie, Ontario law firm Burgar Rowe, we have the debut of Matrimonial Matters. Discussing issues in a very straight-forward and conversational manner, topics covered by their crew of ten authors include divorce, possible criminal charges in family law, distribution of property, taxes and separation.
  • The third blog on The LexBlog Network from Dechert LLP comes in the form of BioLawGics. Authored by their Life Sciences team, this blog is “devoted to exploring the legal aspects of bringing biological medicines to the market.” Subjects discussed thus far include antitrust, life sciences patents, the FDA and biosimilars.
  • Sutherland SALT Online is the first blog on The LexBlog Network from AmLaw 100 firm Sutherland Asbill & Brennan. For those unfamiliar with the acronym, attorneys at this national firm will be offering up insight and analysis on state and local tax developments. With a quite the staff of authors coming from offices all over the country, you can expect this publication to be valuable resource for any tax professional.
  • The Accountable Care Forum is the first of two Squire Sanders publications to join The LexBlog Network this week. Presented in conjunction with the Association of Medical Device Reprocessors, this publication—in their own words—”provides news and analysis from some of the top experts in the United States regarding the impact of proposed accountable care organization (ACO) federal regulations, which define the centerpiece of recent health care reform legislation affecting physicians, hospitals, and patients in the United States.”
  • And the latter of the pair from Squire Sanders is Employment Law Worldview. As the title indicates, this publication looks at the realm of employment law from a truly global perspective. With technology and especailly social media playing growing role in the workplace, employment law has become one of the best legal topics for good discussion. This blog is no exception as the authors take to subjects like immigration, wage and hour, unions and termination with an honest and entertaining approach.
